The 11th annual ASTRA Awards were held on the 25th July and showcased, once again, the star talent behind the nation's best subscription television programming over the past 12 months.

Ai-Media was proud to be there, as our captioning appeared on many of the programs awarded on the night.

Following on from last year’s win by FOX SPORTS, FOX FOOTY took out the Channel of the Year category in 2013. This is a major achievement for a channel dedicated to one sport, Australian Football, achieving the highest ratings for 26 weeks of the year. FOX FOOTY also won the Most Outstanding Sports Program or Coverage category with the 2012 Toyota Australian Football Premiership Season and Finals Series.

The LifeStyle Channel was a big winner on the night bagging five awards, including a trifecta for the program Selling Houses Australia. Capitalising on Australia’s home renovation revolution, the show won Favourite Australian Program, Favourite Male Personality for host Andrew Winter and Favourite Female Personality for Shaynna Blaze.

Also collecting a gong was popular news program PM Agenda on the Sky News channel in the category of Most Outstanding News Program or Coverage. PM Agenda consistently delivers on all the big political stories and is Australia’s only daily news show dedicated to politics.
